Five separate Asian hornet nests have been traced and eliminated in the space of one week.
The Guernsey Asian Hornet team have had a busy few days, dealing with five separate secondary nests.
These are built by the worker hornets who have outgrown the original spring nest and gives an idea of the extent of the hornet problem.
The team say three were reported to them by islanders, and they continue to encourage people to do this at http://asianhornet@gov.gg
One large nest was found in a hedge, and the team say a sign of a nearby, low lying nest is when hornets fly to a specific location, known as a 'traffic' sighting.
Gardeners are asked to take care when cutting back their hedges in case there is a nest inside.
The team say they are still searching each of the ten parishes for hornets.
In Jersey this week, one of the island's scientific officers said they were losing the battle against the invasive insect, as around 700 nests have been eradicated this year, more than 200 up on the same time last year.
In Guernsey, the first Asian Hornets were spotted in the spring of 2017.
