The States wants to hear from operators who could run passenger routes to Guernsey, Jersey and France.
Alderney's Economic Development Committee wants to improve passenger services by including routes to Jersey and Normandy.
It says the Guernsey connection is key, but wants to hear from operators who could run a triangular route to Jersey and excursions to either Cherbourg or Dielette.
The Committee is essentially offering companies a blank canvas to come up with innovative schedules and vessels for either a seasonal or year round operation to serve both islanders and tourists.
Stuart Clark who chairs the Committee says the contract is over a two year period, with the potential to extend:
“We want to understand what the market can deliver from 2027 and whether there are sustainable models that can provide greater choice, continuity and certainty for passengers over the longer term.”
It is in spring 2028 when the proposed resurfacing of Alderney's airport runway is due to take place which will reduce travel options.
