Helder Edmar Alves Moreira has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison for several drug offences.
The 42 year old was arrested in September 2022 after police seized approximately £2,400 worth of cannabis, £500 of MDMA tablets and £7,000 of cash from his property.
Shortly after being released on bail, Moreira was arrested again during routine vehicle stop checks when around £2,000 worth of cannabis was found in his car.
In October 2022, he pleaded guilty to all charges in court.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGranahan heads up the Drug Squad.
“The safety of our community is always at the forefront of our minds, and we continue to work hard keeping illegal drugs off our streets and putting those responsible before the courts.
Work with partners and agencies remains ongoing to target such criminality.”
