Around 800 applications have been made to the new 'Avanchi18' scheme so far.
It will allow under-19s in Jersey to use the bus for £20 a year from Monday 21 March.
Those who applied for their card before yesterday (Wednesday 9 March) can now collect it from the bus station.
Others who want to sign up are being encouraged to complete their online forms quickly, so they're ready to collect and use from the launch date.
Only islanders aged 18 and younger who are Jersey residents can apply.
All cards, that expire on the card holder's birthday, must have a passport-style photo. A clear 'selfie' from a smartphone is accepted.
He wanted it introduced from the start of 2022, but the government said more time was needed to get it organised.
