The WH Smith at Jersey Airport will close next Monday (22 September).
Ports of Jersey says it is shutting as part of its planned redevelopment of the terminal.
A statement says: "This decision also reflects valuable feedback from our customers, which we take very seriously."
Airport bosses say they are supporting affected staff.
They are also assuring passengers that daily newspapers, travel essentials and refreshments will be available while they work on the food, drink and duty-free offering in the departures terminal.
"This closure is part of our wider investment programme to enhance the facilities at Jersey Airport, and we look forward to introducing a refreshed retail concept as part of the future terminal offering."
