Two men have been assaulted near Pier Road junction and the Royal Yacht last night (20 July).
Police say a man knocked another to the ground next to the junction near Chambers and Checkers Express, before heading towards the Royal Yacht's Drift Bar.
It is here where witnesses say they saw him attack a second man, repeatedly punching and kicking him.
A 29-year-old man was arrested a few minutes after the incidents took place.
The suspect is a white man, 5’9 and stocky, wearing dark trousers with a white t-shirt and a dark jacket, which was removed after the assaults.
Officers want anyone who saw the incident to come forward, including drivers - it is thought taxi drivers will be key witnesses to the attacks.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact SoJP on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form.
