A report into Jersey homelessness in the last quarter of 2024 has revealed that 28% of people were recorded as being employed.
Just over half, at 58%, of people in Jersey without a home were unemployed.
42% were employed, in education, or retired.
The data has been revealed in the most recent report, covering October - December last year, and is from anonymised data collected from the Island’s homelessness accommodation and support services.

It also found that people between 36 and 45 years old are the group affected most by homelessness, with 55 people in this bracket falling into the definition.
There were 299 service visits by 295 Islanders to homeless accommodation and service providers in just three months.

The top reasons for island homelessness amongst men are substance abuse and mental health problems.
It found that for women, the top reasons were being at risk of, or escaping domestic abuse.
This combined with a breakdown of relationships due to abusive behaviour, made up 35% of women's reasons for female homelessness.
The data is used by The Minister for Housing, with service providers to develop services and housing options for Islanders who are homeless.
