The committee responsible for overseeing States members' conduct has called for the further suspension of Deputy Philip Ozouf.
Privileges and Procedures is calling for the St Saviour backbencher, who is one of the longest serving States members, to be sanctioned again over his conduct.
The debate to decide his position in the assembly was due to happen today (24 February) but has been deferred.
It'll instead be debated on the 10th of March because he's marked down as 'sick'.
Following his sentencing earlier this month for illegally employing migrant workers, we were told the committee wouldn't bring another reprimand, with only three sittings left before parliament is paused for the general election on 7 June.
PPC now deems that Deputy Ozouf has breached the Code of Conduct.
The committee says he has shown a lack of regard for the island’s laws and judicial process, and has damaged the integrity and reputation of the Assembly.
The Head of PPC, Steve Ahier, says it felt forced to call for the suspension, and they expected he would stand down:
"It's a most unfortunate circumstance, one that we feel has been rather forced upon us.
"I think the committee is rather disappointed that they've had to take this action."

Despite the conviction, numerous calls for him to resign, and the disappointment expressed by islanders and community groups in the deputy, he is still due to sit in the States Chamber.

He was initially suspended from the States Assembly for 28 days following his conviction for motoring offences including speeding, then excluded again in November after admitting immigration offences until the conclusion of the court case earlier this month.
