Jersey's upcoming parkruns have been cancelled to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Event directors, Michael and Sam, say they're devastated to have to make the decision, but had to consider the risk to the participants' friends and families:
"The importance of being active and protecting your wellbeing is critical at this time as the Island comes to grips with the current Coronavirus impacts.
"At Jersey parkrun we have debated long and hard how best to proceed and have taken the very difficult decision to cancel with immediate effect to ensure that we play our part in protecting our community.
"We are all devastated by this decision but consider the direct and indirect risk to our families and friends is too great at present.
"We hope you will be understanding of our decision and we genuinely look forward to welcoming you all back soon."
Organisers will review the decision at the end of the month.
