A man has been arrested after allegedly trying to rob a St Helier jewellery store this morning (21 July).
Police say he threatened a member of staff with a broken bottle, demanded some of the items on display, before running away.
Officers were called just after 9am.
The force says a 20-year-old man was 'safely detained' by firearms officers a short time later.
He remains in custody. No items were taken and the member of staff involved was not physically hurt.
Police have not revealed the store in question.
