Islanders will see increased bus fares from today, as well as the new bus timetable for spring and summer.
Due to inflation, from today (3 April) LibertyBus is raising its ticket prices.
The company's single fares and Transfer tickets will change to:
- Pay As You Go £2 Adult £1.03 Children,
- Contactless is £2.25 Adult and £1.08 Children,
- Cash is £2.70 Adult and £1.30 for Children.
Users are encouraged to use its AvanchiCards, which the company says are a more cost-effective way to travel.
Monthly bus passes will also increase by £3 a month, costing in total £1.62 a day.
The new timetable also starts today which sees:
- The return of the early morning Route 1 bus at 5:18 am from Gorey, Monday to Saturday.
- Some changes to route 20 include the link to Fort Regent being replaced with new connections to Castle Quay and the Radisson Hotel.
- It will operate twice an hour between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday.
- Townlink will be operating a new route 24 which will operate from the Bus Station, via Minden Place, David Place, up Trinity Hill, and then down Oaklands Lane.
- Route 4 is being reintroduced on Sundays after members of the Trinity community asked for its return.
- The number 13 to La Hougue Bie, Gorey, and the Zoo will also be increasing to hourly throughout the day.
- Route 14 to St Brelade!s Bay will be making a return on an hourly basis from 3 April, increasing to half hourly from 29 May.
