Jersey to turn pink for breast cancer awareness

This October, ABC Jersey is inviting Islanders and local businesses to join in the Pink Window Parade.

Breast cancer support charity, ABC Jersey, has launched its Pink Window Parade.

This October, ABC Jersey is inviting Islanders and local businesses into a community-wide campaign to raise awareness and support for Islanders affected by breast cancer.

It also hopes to encourage Islanders to give themselves some TLC: Touch. Look. Check.

Windows will be decorated pink with flowers, crafts or artwork in a show of unity and support.

100 local establishments have already signed up to take part, and islanders at home are also invited to join in.

They can download printable bunting, posters and other resources from the ABC Jersey website, and are encouraged to get creative in their own way.

Sue Frost, Volunteer Governor of ABC Jersey, says breast cancer affects those diagnosed, and those around them:

“Every pink window is a symbol of hope and a powerful reminder that breast cancer touches our whole community.

“We want Islanders to know they’re not alone, and that support is here for them.”

Anyone who shares a photo of their pink window display (by tagging @ABCJersey on social media or emailing the charity) will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to the Jersey Estate Agents’ Diamond Ball in November. This is a fundraising event for ABC and FOJO.

As well as awareness, the campaign hopes to raise funds. Islanders are invited to sign up on the ABC Jersey Sports Giving page.
