The ‘La Tèrr’rie d’Jèrri’ exhibition on the first floor shares some of the island’s most significant moments.
The displays range from prehistoric mammoth skulls and dwarf red deer bones to gold torques, royal charters, items from the Battle of Jersey and Occupation years, and times when Jersey attracted artists, honeymooners and holidaymakers.
Louise Downie, Jersey Heritage’s Director of Curation & Experience, says it's about telling a coherent story:
"We have written word and audio-visual displays. We made sure that the audio-visual artists, for example, were working with the designers to make sure their palette of colours worked with the exhibition
"The designers took their inspiration from the island itself, the geography and geology, and the natural elements, as well as the objects themselves.
"We wanted to create an exhibition that made you feel part of the island's story."
