Former nurses are being encouraged to consider returning to practice in Jersey.
The Health Department is running two information evenings about how people who've previously trained can get back into the profession.
The 'Return to Practice' programme is run in partnership with the University of Chester, giving opportunities for people who left the profession to return to their career in nursing. It's open to anyone who's previously registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
It involves around 60 hours of studying and 100-300 hours of supervised practice, but once completed will mean nurses can re-register with the NMC and return to work.
Julie Mesny, Head of Education, Learning and Development at Health & Community Services, says they're pleased to be able to run the scheme:
"The course is a great way for those who have left nursing, perhaps for a career break, to come back to this rewarding and important career."
Registered nurses who aren't currently practising can find out more next Tuesday (27 November, 4-7pm) and Friday (30 November, 3-6pm) at Peter Crill House at the Hospital. You can email w.stevens@health.gov.je to book a place.
