Consultants Appointed For Housing Review

Around £120,000 is being spent on a review of housing in Jersey.

The newly-formed Housing Policy Development Board is using an independent specialist consultancy firm, Altair.

It will look at ways of encouraging home ownership, reducing rental stress and improving the supply and standard of homes.

The HPDB was set up last month by Chief Minister Senator John Le Le Fondré to 'deliver sustainable long-term solutions that will address challenges in the local housing market'.

Seven politicians, including Housing Minister Senator Sam Mezec, are on the board.

Altair has been appointed to support this work, and ensure that we can deliver coherent, well-researched and funded recommendations for implementation from 2020 onwards.

Funding of up tp £122,780 has been approved by the Treasury Minister Deputy Susie Pinel for the review.
