Bulls ease into next FA Cup qualifying round

A Sammy Henia-Kamau hat trick helped Jersey Bulls into the next qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The winger’s treble and a strike from Lorne Bickley secured a 4-1 victory over Sheerwater at Springfield Stadium.

It was the visitors who struck first, after a scuffed effort found its way to striker Harvey Valter, who slid the ball home.

He had a golden chance to double the lead a short time later, but sent a free header over from close range.

Elliot Powell’s side then gained control and, after Bickley missed with a close-range header of his own, Henia-Kamau managed to wriggle clear in the box and strike home an equaliser.

The number 21 then flicked a header home to turn the game on its head just three minutes later, before Bickley showed incredible strength to power past the Sheerwater defence to slide home a third in the 37th minute.

Henia-Kamau was denied by an offside flag and a good block at the start of the second half, but wouldn’t be denied for long.

A good cross from James Carr was expertly finished first-time by Henia-Kamau to complete his hat-trick.

Jersey Bulls will visit Burgess Hill Town in the first qualifying round in early September.
