The head chef of Bohemia will be leaving in February after nearly seven years at the bar and restaurant.
Steve Smith will take on the same job at the one-Michelin-starred Latymer restaurant at Pennyhill Park in Surrey.
Bohemia was awarded one Michelin star seven months after Steve was appointed in 2013 and remains the only restaurant in the Channel Islands to hold five AA rosettes.
A new head chef will be announced next month.
"After nearly seven years at Bohemia, Chef Steve Smith will be returning to England in February 2020. Bohemia will be announcing its new Head Chef in January, who will take over the kitchen in February and will work to build on the amazing success Bohemia has enjoyed over the last 16 years, including holding a Michelin-star for 15 of those years. Bohemia is the only restaurant in Jersey to hold a Michelin-star and the only restaurant in the Channel Islands to hold five AA rosettes."
Under his stewardship, Bohemia was also ranked as the 11th best restaurant in the UK in the Good Food Guide 2018. It was the only Channel Island restaurant to receive the accolade.
Sad news that Steve Smith's leaving @Bohemia_Jersey for @PennyhillPark . Not long ago Jersey could boast 3 @MichelinGuideUK star restaurants - with Steve's departure that will potentially leave us with none. Let's hope the team can attract another top-notch chef in his place 1/2
