A lone skipper who became ill and disorientated was found by a passing vessel which alerted Guernsey Coastguard.
The drama unfolded on Monday evening, 29 January, when two yachts approaching Guernsey were due into St Peter Port at around the same time.
The Bumblebee arrived, but there was no sign of the Lindring.
Coastguard were alerted and they carried out a search of the marinas to check it hadn't berthed anywhere else, and also tried to radio the vessel.
At the same time, a merchant ship had been tacking a radar image north of Sark, and having heard the radio calls for the missing yacht, altered course to investigate and quickly made radio contact.
It turned out to be the missing yacht Lindring, whose solo skipper had become ill and disorientated.
The lifeboat was launched and towed the yacht back to St Peter Port.
