Temporary traffic lights expected to be in the Charroterie for 19 months have been removed - after just a couple of weeks.
On 24 August, temporary traffic lights were set up by the former CI Tyres site in La Charroterie.
They were expected to be there until March 2028 to allow work to start on the new a Guernsey Housing Association development - Courtil Falaise - which will eventually provide 70 units of affordable housing.
Just a few weeks later, the lights are gone.
The States say this is due to a 'slight delay in commencing activities on the development site'.
Traffic and Highways hope this decision will 'alleviate pressures caused by roadworks on other key routes into town '.
Road users are currently unable to pass the Fermain Tavern in St Martins, as electricity infrastructure is being upgraded.
The temporary traffic lights are expected to return to La Charroterie when the building work begins.
