A single car crash closed the Weighbridge roundabout for several hours just after rush hour.
An eyewitness told Island FM that the car came from the Truchot, crossed four lanes of traffic and hit a street light near the Clock Tower, where it came to a stop. It happened just before 6pm last night (11).
All three emergency services were sent to the scene.
They closed the main route into St Peter Port for several hours, although cars leaving Town were able to use the northbound lanes from just before 7pm.
This morning the road is open. Debris from the vehicle is still lying below the street light, which is bent backwards.
The condition of the driver and passenger aren't known at this time.
