An overnight power outage in St Peter Port has taken down some States IT systems, including its website.
The power cut affected most of Guernsey's most populated parish and began at around 1.30am today (3 January).
The States' IT servers sit in Frossard House and Edward T Wheadon House which are both in St Peter Port, and it was evident early on that the gov.gg website had been affected by the outage.
The States says the power cut has had the most impact on systems that were being restored following the major IT outage on 25 November last year, when the servers overheated and shut down to preserve data.
The extent of the current IT problem is unclear at this stage.
Overnight, Guernsey Electricity sent out updates on social media to let people know that there was a network problem, and that engineers were working to fix it.
Power was back on to most areas within two hours, with the exception of Elm Grove, Doyle Road and the Gibauderie.
