Two men from Guernsey have been sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison between them, for attempting to make the Class A drug at the Vale Castle.
40 year old Thomas Marr and 33 year old Ross Le Page were arrested by officers on 20 October last year, in an open German gun position below the Vale Castle.
The raid was filmed by a Police officer using a head cam. In it, you can see the two standing and using the old concrete gun mount at the front of the open topped bunker as a store for the various 'controlled substances' that officers found them with.
They were charged, and have been imprisoned, fo, trying to 'cook' Crystal Meth, or Methamphetamine, which is a Class A drug.
Thomas Marr was sentenced to six years and six months while Ross Le Page was given five years and two months.
Commenting on the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Tom Lowe of Guernsey Police said:
"The drugs themselves are dangerous and we are pleased to have been able to prevent them entering the local market, however the act of creating these substances is also very dangerous, and presented a significant risk to both men arrested, and any members of the public in the area at the time."
