An air and sea search was sparked in Guernsey on Friday (2 September) to find a missing child.
The 11 year old's parents reported him lost from the beach at Moulin Huet at 5.15pm.
Police made a social media appeal, which was widely-shared within moments of being published.
Guernsey Coastguard deployed lifeboats and the air and sea search plane.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat was launched within three minutes of the 999 call, closely followed by St Peter Port's All-Weather boat and the Channel Islands Airsearch aircraft.
It's understood the boy was visiting the island with his family.
The search was called off after a short time after a member of the public
It was called off at 6pm after a member of the public called in to say they were with the missing child.
