A public tip-off and an 'extensive investigation' have led to the eight-year imprisonment of Steven Beausire for sexual offences against a child and the supply of drugs.
The 38-year-old was first arrested in February 2024 after a member of the public flagged down a police car to report screaming coming from within a property.
Inside, officers found an unconscious girl.
Beausire was arrested for further offences in May 2024 and remanded in custody at Les Nicolles.
He initially pleaded guilty to supplying Class A, B, and C drugs, and later admitted the sexual crimes on the first day of his trial, where his victim had been due to give evidence.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ian Tanner says the sentence 'reflects the serious and abhorrent nature of the offences'.
"Crimes of this nature cause deep and lasting harm, not only to the direct victims, but also to their families and the wider public.
"We commend the bravery of the victim and the resilience they have shown throughout this process.
"I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of the investigative teams and our partner agencies who worked tirelessly to bring this offender to justice.
"Our priority remains the protection of children and the disruption of those who seek to harm them or profit from illegal activity.
"We encourage anyone with concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child to contact police or support services immediately.
"We will continue to pursue those who commit these offences and ensure they are held accountable for their actions.”
