Experienced runners Sarah Roe and Steve Dawes lead the six local athletes lined up for the event in Town on 14 July.
Steve Dawes is the only team member who was in athletics action the last time the Games were held in Guernsey, in 2003.
Sarah Roe has competed in every edition of the Games since 2009, and is the reigning 5,000m and 10,000m champion.
Tom Druce, the Guernsey Athletics Development Officer, says the half marathon team has been selected before athletes for the other events.
He says it's to give them time to prepare for the 13 mile event.
He expects both Rowe and Dawes to be medal contenders.
The women's team comprises the 800m Island Record holder Nat Whitty, and the 2006 European Marathon Champion Ulrike Maisch.
James Priest and Sammy Galpin add a more youthful element to the men's line-up.
The half marathon takes place on the final Friday of the Games, on 14 July, along the St Peter Port seafront.
