From 2027, islanders will be able to apply for new passports without filling in a form.
The Immigration and Nationality Team from the Guernsey Border Agency will be working with His Majesty’s Passport Office (HMPO) to digitise the passport application process.
The move is part of a UK-wide project.
The HMPO will be contacting islanders to ask them questions about the plans.
Currently, islanders need to fill out a paper form to apply for a new passport.
More information will be made available next year, ahead of the move in 2027.
