The Guernsey-born director behind the Copsogue films will be on the island this Liberation weekend to scout for locations and island-grown talent.
Under the Watchful Gaze was announced in April, with Guernsey-born writer and director Gene Fallaize emphasising from the start that the Occupation drama would involve as many islanders as possible. The production team will be on the island this weekend to visit potential filming locations and hold auditions. They are looking for three locals for speaking roles: two men and one woman. Acting experience is not required. Gene says he is confident they'll find good home-grown actors.
"These three roles are integral to the story, and all have key scenes with the lead characters, so I’m really pleased we can cast these with people from Guernsey.
"Having grown up in Guernsey, I know there is an amazing wealth of creative talent on the island, so I’m really excited to see our first local actors."
In-person auditions will be held between 3-5PM on Sunday (10 May) in St Peter Port.
Anyone interested in applying should upload a headshot and an acting CV (in PDF) here.
The production will also be looking for several other actors for other roles later in the year, as well as extras for various crowd scenes.
