More details have been announced of the visit of the Earl and Countess of Wessex for Liberation Day.
Edward and Sophie will arrive in the island on the afternoon of 9 May.
They will meet islanders who endured the Occupation at the Tea Dance at Beau Sejour.
Their Royal Highnesses will then travel to Castle Cornet for a multi-faith service and a special performance of ‘Sarnia Cherie’ by the Guernsey Music Service Youth Choir, followed by the 21-gun salute.
They will also watch the Liberation Day Cavalcade from the Model Yacht Pond area.
The Earl and Countess will then meet islanders celebrating Liberation 77 along the Castle Emplacement, before leaving for Government House.
The following day, Edward and Sophie will visit Forest Primary School to plant a tree to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
They will also meet the winner of the local Platinum Jubilee for Guernsey flag competition.
Alderney is the next stop for the Royal couple, with details of their stops in the island yet to be announced.
The visit to the Bailiwick will conclude in Sark to present emergency service personnel with a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal and meet islanders who lived through Sark's Occupation.
