Deputy Richard Graham has responded to an open letter written by two parents concerned with the future of Guernsey's education system.
Deputy Graham says the committee maintain they have acted properly with respect to recent recruitment processes and will be cooperating fully with any inquiry due to take place.
He says that issue is completely separate to that of the funding debate due to take place at next week's States meeting.
Deputy Graham says the changes are not being rushed through, as they have been agreed by two successive States - first in March 2016 and then again in November of the same year.
Over the last 18 months, officers and school leadership teams have been working on implementing the new model, and Deputy Graham says substantial progress has been made - with a full transition plan, detailed building plans, and a comprehensive future educational model designed by the future school leaders.
The two page letter is closed saying a smooth transition to the new model needs to be ensured, because changing course now without an alternative plan could lead to prolonged debates about the optimal model with increasing uncertainty for students, staff, teachers, and parents.
