St John Ambulance and Rescue make the journey to raise funds for the Flying Christine marine ambulance.
It was second time lucky for the Ambulance and Rescue volunteers who captained the car on the six mile voyage.
The stunt had been postponed from the week before by poor weather.
But on Saturday (5 September) it was fine and calm and the floating, propelled car left the Castle Emplacement for the 2.5 hour trip to Sark.
It was the second such journey for Ambulance volunteers Gary Ward and Paul Phillips as they had made a similar crossing in the late 1980s to raise money to build the Flying Christine III.
Gary says the journey was smooth:
"I was actually very impressed with the sea keeping qualities of the car.
"It felt quite stable, even around the Bec du Nez where there was a bit of swell."
The car was accompanied on the crossing by several boats, including the Flying Christine 3, which has undergone an extensive refit.
Islanders turned out to greet the arrival at Creux Harbour and from there it was towed up the Harbour Hill to be put on display at the Island Hall.
It will make the return journey, via Herm, next weekend weather permitting.
