Aurigny has announced is summer flight schedule between Jersey and Guernsey after being confirmed as the sole operator on the inter-islands route.
The Guernsey States-owned airline will run two return trips a day between the end of March and late October:
GUERNSEY-JERSEY
Monday-Saturday: Guernsey-Jersey GR300 0720-0745
Sunday: Guernsey-Jersey GR300 0800-0825
Monday-Sunday: Guernsey-Jersey GR308 1645-1710
JERSEY-GUERNSEY
Monday-Saturday: Jersey-Guernsey GR301 0815-0840
Sunday: Jersey-Guernsey GR301 0855-0920
Monday-Sunday: Jersey-Guernsey GR309 1740-1805
Aurigny got the licence from Guernsey's authorities to operate inter-islands services after the route was classified a lifeline service following the collapse of Blue Islands last November.
The airline is promising to add targeted services where there is demand.
Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer at Aurigny, said:
"Everyone at the airline recognises the significance of the trust placed in us. We will be dedicated each and every day to deliver a much better and more reliable service than experienced on the route in recent years.
“Our mission will be to deliver real value-for-money that helps grow back connections between the communities of both islands. We share a firm commitment to keep sustainable connectivity at the heart of island life.”
Passengers will be refunded.
Guernsey deputy John Gollop, President of the Transport Licensing Authority, said:
“The Air Transport Licensing Law and the Air Policy Statement set out the factors to be considered by the Authority when making a decision to either grant or to reject a licence application.
"On this occasion, evidence suggested strong competition on these routes would likely lead to it being unviable for all operators in the longer term."
